Editas Intranet Case Study

MOBILE INTRANET BRINGS EMPLOYEES TOGETHER

Integrated Sharepoint Intranet Creates a Home for Remote Company Culture

A mobile-first intranet benefits everyone — both full-time remote employees and those just working on-the-go. XDS partnered with the Editas Communications team to provide Sharepoint intranet strategies for the mobile workforce. The client goal: enhance the employee experience while reinforcing Editas Medicine’s reputation as a world-class company providing best-in-class tools and resources to its highly talented and coveted team. The XDS design and development teams partnered to create sets of designs tackling the following areas:
  • Custom Editas Welcome Hub focused on recreating a digital Editas front lobby, and displaying video/photo gallery & company news
  • Consolidating disjointed intranet department experiences together into a seamless architecture
  • Providing a home for employee training documentation
  • Mobile-first intranet user experience & design
  • Building remote employee culture
  • Microsoft suite integration (Modern Sharepoint installation)

As with all of our intranet projects, we ended the project with custom admin and user training documentation. Empowering clients to implement successful change management is one of our keys to success. We’ve also seen that regular content curation from department admins is a large determining factor in healthy engagement metrics, and we work hard from discovery to launch to prioritize ease-of-use for intranet super users. With an engaging new design & regular content updates, the new Editas intranet boasts strong engagement metrics!
  • Average 47 minute engagement time
  • Heavily utilized for employee training
  • Users browse News content for long engagement periods
