Medic Alert case study
The Medic Alert Foundation, a medical emergency jewelry and wearables company, needed to redesign and rebuild their site and back-end architecture. With growing demands and a varied offering, the legacy infrastructure was in need of an upgrade and streamlining.
In 2018, XDS redesigned and rebuilt Medicalert.org on Drupal CMS, after conducing a through discovery process to assess potential platforms. Launched in early 2019, the new website experience provides a guided, personalized, accessible, and user-friendly customer enrollment along with a custom jewelry engravingexperience which allows visitors to preview what their tag or bracelet will look like prior to purchase in real time. Supporting the website redesign is a more streamlined, HIPAA compliant backend integration with Salesforce for accurate and clear customer information tracking, account management, and an improved integration for customer service representatives. The Experience Design Studio also supported Medic Alert with ongoing and fruitful SEO and SEM efforts starting with old site and continuing through launch.
To serve the client, XDS supported MedicAlert across the entire project lifecycle, from helping conceive the new user experience, design, and complex backend integration, as well as helping the company identify a new hosting partner and enhancing its analytics tracking across the web and call center. In addition, The Experience Design Studio provided MedicAlert with Data Science help in reducing and optimizing a gigantic legacy data set containing customer information, previous orders, and fragmented engraving data.
