Shockwave Medical Case Study
Shockwave Medical is revolutionizing the interventional treatment of advanced cardiovascular disease by developing technology that targets calcified plaque. Their IVL catheters use sonic pressure waves to preferentially impact hard tissue, disrupting calcium, while leaving soft tissue undisturbed. XDS has served as agency of record for Shockwave Medical since mid-2018, helping with a range of services from web and digital support to rebranding their medical devices, creating product brochures and providing on going conference online/offline material support.
One of our largest projects was reimagining the company’s website in order better align with an image of innovation and forward thinking. Launched in January 2019, the global site features educational animations of their product in action, case studies, clinical research, and helpful investor information. A key component of the new site is a focus on lead generation and contact registration for healthcare professionals via a tight integration with HubSpot and Salesforce.com, supported by nurturing campaigns and segmentation. We have continued to support and maintain the site, adding new features and content along with ongoing SEO efforts, a blog, and additional videos. Since launch, Shockwave has experienced tremendous growth across traffic and leads, with a 400% increase in leads and a 40% increase in traffic compared to previous years. The company went public with an IPO in March of 2019.
The site has received many accolades to date, including two 2019 Gold MARCOM awards in the Medical and Business to Business website categories, as well as a 2020 Davey Award for Medical website design in the Health & Health services category.
